La Caume
La Caume is reached by driving south from St Remy du Provence, along the D5. It is another montaine area of pine forests, scrub and open rocky areas peaking at 389m where there is a large radio mast. It is not possible to drive up the mountain road (there's a barrier across the road near the carpark) so we parked at the base and walked up. It is quite a long walk, especially on a hot day. We saw Crested Tit, lots of Pied Flycatchers, Northern Goshawk, Coal Tit and Spotted Flycatcher. Near the top, where the area is mostly scrub, we added Subalpine and Spectacled Warblers.
