St Remy de Provence

Olive trees
Just south of the town St Remy de Provence, which lies north-eats of Arles, there are some Roman building remains and olive groves. Migration was in evidence here as walked through the olives getting approximately 60 Pied Flycatchers, a Spotted Flycatcher and a Common Redstart. Helen spotted the trip-first and her first-ever Hoopoe feeding on the ground about 3 metres away. Also here we had a Sardinian Warbler and heard, but sadly didn't see, European Bee-eaters.
